When do you use shared mobility services and for which price?
How much are citizens willing to pay for shared mobility if it saves them a significant amount of time? This question was raised by researchers in Thessaloniki, by taking a closer look at the costs of shared taxi services in comparison to private car use. The survey of 90 participants provided interesting results.
MOMENTUM project partners of CERTH/HIT have assessed the willingness to pay higher prices for shared mobility services, if these services significantly reduce the journey time. In academic terms, the ‘value of time (VOT)’ versus the ‘willingness to pay (WTP)’. The survey also took the participants’ age, socio-economic and educational background into consideration.
